The play follows Jonah, a prophet who is desperate to escape his calling from God - a calling that leads him directly to his enemy, the city of Nineveh. After a storm-tossed ship voyage, Jonah is swallowed by a giant fish and finds himself in the belly of the sea creature. In the depths, he learns to receive grace and extend mercy, even toward those he once opposed.
